Abby: Class of 2021

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

—Eleanor Roosevelt

Senior portrait sessions are so special, so we always begin with a Zoom or in-person consultation so that we can guarantee that the vision becomes a reality! And Abby had really wanted to have natural elements and beauty in her photos, so I suggested Longwood Gardens! We were all set and I had even gone to scope out what was in bloom earlier in the week since we had them scheduled mid-April. We were ready and certain that it would be perfect…until the weather forecast sent a major spoiler–it looked like rain and wind and all things NOT good for a session. Sally was quick in her thinking though and I’m so glad she was. We got the most spectacular day and the location was PERFECT!

Sally called me Tuesday morning and shared her latest weather findings for Wednesday. Tuesday’s weather was gorgeous but Longwood is closed on Tuesdays–but she had a plan! Sally teaches at Eastern University and told me tales of how beautiful the campus is! I quickly hopped on and Googled it and immediately said YES! So we pivoted and planned to meet 2 hours before sunset (my all-time favorite time for portraits!)

As soon as Abby and Sally stepped out of the car, I loved their warm smiles and enthusiasm; I just knew we were going to have fun together! We set to work looking at outfits and shoes and jewelry and made a plan! As we walked toward the Gatehouse, I was struck by how many options for great backgrounds we had! From walls to the pond to the gorgeous tulips–there were SO many possibilities!

Abby has a great smile! She also knows who she is and what fits with her style–I love her ability to be decisive and articulate her preferences! We did convince her to wear a few things that were on the periphery of her comfort zone–but she is glad she trusted us to go with the dangly earrings for her one outfit!

I have no doubt that Abby is going to do wonderful things as she attends Widener University to study Engineering. Her strong work-ethic and warm personality make the perfect combination for success! Abby and Sally, thank you so much for trusting me to capture and commemorate this milestone. I am so lucky to have met you both. Keep smiling and I can’t wait to hear about the future adventures!

Warmly,

Angie
