Back in Action!

After completing my photography courses, I was eager to begin taking pictures! Unfortunately, while we were on our family vacation in San Francisco, our car windows were smashed and backpacks stolen. Guess what was in my backpack? ALL of my camera gear including memory cards with my photos from our trips to both Italy and Germany, camera, lenses….EVERYTHING. Talk about upsetting! Fortunately, my husband knows how passionate I am about photography and how important taking pictures is–so he insisted that we head to Best Buy to get a new one.

Turning lemons into lemonade, I used the events as an opportunity to upgrade to a mirrorless camera. I have spent the past several days exploring the new features and getting the settings perfected! Needless to say, I am super excited!

My replacement portrait lens and Expodisc arrived over the weekend and today I was able to take them for a spin! As I continue to complete additional photography courses and hone my craft, my heart is filled with gratitude. I am grateful that during the “smash and grab” my family wasn’t hurt. I am grateful that I have a supportive husband who encouraged me to not only replace–but to upgrade my gear.

And finally, I am grateful that my children are just as excited for me to have a camera back in hand; they are even asking to “get dressed up” so I can photograph them! Sometimes it just takes a little shift in perspective to see that there is good even when a situation can initially feel insurmountable. #reframeyourthinking

With gratitude, 💖 Angie
