Birthday Shoot at Broad Run Park!
When one lives in the northeast, sunny days are not always easy to come by in the winter months! A fun fact about photographers is that we are OBSESSED with light!! That being said, anytime I have a shoot (especially in the winter), I become a bit consumed with watching the weather.
The day of Aria’s shoot had been gloomy, but there was a little peek of the sun in the afternoon. I was hopeful, but those pesky clouds once again overtook the day with their shadows. Luckily they were were no match for Aria’s bright spirit, her giant shiny “3” balloon and her adorable pink dress with matching coat!
It is typical for younger clients (and sometimes older ones too) to be a little camera shy at the start of a session. Aria’s parents sprung right into action making faces, being silly with props, and telling jokes to get Aria laughing and smiling! Let me tell you–they were experts! Her mom and dad even had a twirling competition to keep the laughter coming! She is also an excellent big sister and really enjoyed getting to help her baby sister sit for some pictures; she took great joy in tickling her to get some smiles!
We ended the session by taking some pictures with Aria’s favorite stuffed “friends” and by spreading some glitter “fairy dust”! She had her choice of the mermaid mix (teals and purples) and blue fuchsia! There was little hesitation before she went for the blue and pink combo, and had a blast getting to make the glitter fly through the air! As darkness set in and we headed back to our cars, Aria was in for one final surprise! Her parents told her that they were going to get her favorite food for dinner–SUSHI! Aria loves the California roll and was really excited for her special dinner.
This was the second time I had the pleasure of meeting Aria and her family. They came to our “Christmas tree farm” in the backyard for holiday minis just about a month ago! It was so wonderful to get to spend a little more time with them–and capture some memories to celebrate Aria’s third birthday!
Keep bringing joy and sparkle where ever you go, Aria. May this year be the best year yet!
Warmly,
Angie
